Am I the only one who feel Cybertronic is somewhat shafted when it comes to (Pre created) Warlord choices?

* First of all, they have only one unique Warlord (The Immortal).
* Second, The Everassur is basically just a slightly toned down Immortal for cheaper points.
* Third, none of the Warlords offer any chance of variety in how you take your army list. Either as a way to take something from support as troops, more light vehicles, or things like giving certain units more special skills.
* Fourth, we have no Doomtroopers. I realise Prodos may have changed the fluff for their version of Warzone, and Cybertronic no longer provide Doomtroopers to the Cartel, but considering Cybertronic (at least ruleswise) can take characters with the Cartel Agent skill (including the two Blood Berets), this seems uinlikely. I miss characters such as Vince Diamond and Coral Beach. Coral Beach was (at least in older versions fluff) close combat and special ops oriented. He could easily be made as a CC-warlord that opens up options to take 2 Mirrormen as troops (or similiar), and be given the Doomtrooper skill.

I find it a bit boring that Cybertronics only (premade) Warlord choices are Immortal, Immortal Light (Everassur) and Diana. Before anyone brings up Mishima, you need to realise that Mishima was released late in the KS, and thus could be said not to have recieved everything they should yet. And even then, they still have Tatsumoto.

I agree with you mate. I think our army itself is cool to play and the cybernetics are a nice twist. They also add versatility to our force, but it would have been great to have tools to add diversity to our army building.
And yes, the Everassur and Immortal are so extremely similar in playstyle it's a bit boring. For example, compare Henry Thomas with Big Bob Watts. Those are WAY different and offer completely different play styles and thus gaming experiences.
Personally I don't see Diana as a Warlord or even an interesting character...I think she doesn't fit the game and style of the game at all. As a cheap named medic (like the squad commander replacement) she is okay, but as a Warlord she is lame. Coral Beach, Vince or Cyril would have been sooooooo much better. Oh well.

I have to say I actually like the fact that the Everasseur and Dr Diana aren't unique characters, but just generic personel and clones, as I've never been a fan of special characters in games (major reason why I never took up Warmahordes). That said I would like to see tech warlords retain their higher resource card level in advanced games to make Dr Diana a bit more viable. Though I still plan to take her in most games as she's a lot cheaper in points than the other two.

True...but in a standard game she's quite useless. Apart from the Armour buff and Medical support she has no offensive output. And I'd rather field models that kill than models that prevent killing.

Oh no doubt about it she's pretty ineffectual, I just see it as saving 100points to spend on other Troops or Support units. The Immortal and Everasseur are just a bit too expensive for my liking.

I think you misunderstand me somewhat. Perhaps I could have been clearer. It's not that I want more characters that have the rule "unique", rather that I want more variety in characters, as I find the Everassur to be just a cheaper version of the Immortal.

I was really hoping for a bit of list change characters as well... Virtually all of the other factions have a special ability or warlord that allows them to take a unit as a different unit, and I would like this to be an option for us. A few possibilities:

Vince Diamond: allows one Mirrormen unit to be taken as troops. Nothing like putting the poster boy up with a poster unit. (I would have put Pietr in this role but as it turns out he's just a squad commander!)

Cyril Dent: a Cuirassier unit (with a Chasseur squad commander chosen as an upgrade) can be taken as troops. He's regarded as one himself on his card!

Coral Beach: Allows support choices like Machinators or Scorpions to be taken in the 'Light Vehicle' slot(s).

We have some excellent support choices, the problem is deciding what to take. Fluff-wise, highly visible units usually make mention of the Mirrormen, Cuirassier and EDDs alongside Chassuers, but that doesn't leave much room to take either/both of those and create a 'public relations' force according to that fluff.

My take would be something like this;

Vince Diamiond (Ranged) - Chasseur boost. He would usually be accompanying Chasseurs into combat as he's sort of the ultimate Chasseur.

Cyril Dent (Tech) - Allow one more LV at the cost of a Support/Troop or take one Cuirassier squad as troops? He was always looking a lot like a technician.

Coral Beach (CC) - Clandestine operations, ruthless, a Doomtrooper CC specialist (from Siege of the Citadel). Enhancing either Scorpions (a "terror" unit of sorts) or Mirromen maybe? Could be paired with a special kind of Cuirassier (standard profile, experimental cybernetics and weapons) as a Doomtrooper team.

EDIT:

I would probably make a "Public Relations Force" something like this with current rules;

Warlord: Commander Diana
Lord: Everassur
Troops: Chasseurs
Support: Mirrormen (1-2 squads) and Cuirassiers (1 Squad)

At 1k points, maybe;

Warlord: Diana - 155

Troops: 6 Chasseurs - 110
1 SSW5500 RL

Troops: 6 Chasseurs - 110
1 SSW5500 RL

Troops: 6 Chasseurs - 110
1 SSW5500 RL

Support: 5 Mirrormen - 135
5 CSA 404

Support: 5 Mirrormen - 135
5 CSA 404

Support: 2 Attilla MK. III - 244
2 Weapons Overhaul, 2 Steel Skin 2 TASW4000

Total: 999

Id really like the ablitiy to take 1-2 Voltigers as a LV choice, or take 1 Voltiger as a Support troop, just so I could have two.

I am a little surprised Vince Diamond wasn’t one of the special characters for Cybertronic either. However I disagree with what others say he should do for a Cybertronic army. Vince is a Diamond-series Chasseur, thus the surname of Diamond (he is actually formerly Bauhaus, so his real last name is most likely something Eastern European rather than sounding like he is from Las Vegas).

Diamonds are like the James Bond of the Cybertronic world – given special treatment, unheard of autonomy, and full of the most powerful implants. So I would think if you selected Vince you should be able to upgrade a squad of Chasseur’s to Diamonds. This would be better stats, maybe free implants, and superior weapon stats (like the Sea Lions rifles).

EDIT: I see Kollar made a recommendation like this as well - my bad.
