I know I'm a bit late to the party here, but I must stand up for the offensive ability of WL Diana. ( and I say this as a player not part of the writing team).

In CC she is a beast, mainly because of her ability to move her CC to a Con test (ticker overdose). As an example I got her in against 2 Juggernauts and an already wounded Angelika, 4 failed Con test later. Only 1 Jugger was standing, ready to be dispatched next turn. :D Happy days!

I had the same thoughts concerning The Doctor. I am glad that she has proven to be quite the close combat beast if she needs to be.

I have to agree with Diana Commander. I find she's the best value for points you can have. I've killed my opponent's Nepharite Warlord with those CON tests. Also the passive boost that she gives to troops adds a lot of survivability to your Chasseurs and A.Chasseurs also.

While I can undestand it's a little disappointing many of the "classic" models didn't make it into WZR, I also understand that this is not a game upgrade but creating an entire new game from scratch, and retooling background and units as appropriate. For a first edition with such a major upgrade to previous games, there are a decent number of options. I don't doubt that future book expansions will cater for many of these missing units (some might disappear - wasn't keen on People's Volunteers for example). Whether we get faction books or system-wide expansion books or a combination of both... Maybe Prodos could also resurrect Chronicles (the old Warzone and Chronopia magazine) with new fluff/background/units as a quarterly publication.

Anyway, I don't take the book as it is as a definitive list of units of WZR, and can't wait to see future books.
