So, I was just thinking, on the KS page it says 3 machinators @ £12 on 35mm(?) bases. At the same time it's 5 armoured chasseurs @ £12. I really like both of the concept drawings so I'll deffo get them both in numbers, but isn't the machinators supposed to be the expendable bulk AI's and the armoured chasseurs more elite and scarce cyborgs? Wouldn't it make more sense the other way around with how many you get for £12? I guess the machinators must be more bulk-ish.

Just speculating...

/Cheers

A bit strange - might have to do something with the manifacturing process. The Mk I.s were more like skeletons with some hidraulics added.

Armoured Chasseurs are actually kind of a new concept. They don't appear to be Enhanced Chasseurs (which were like hardcore two-man mini-character units in 1st) but just slightly up-armoured Chasseurs. And oddly, despite the background, Machinators in 1st Edition were slightly more expensive than things like normal Chasseurs. Their original squad size was 3-5 (though that isn't odd as most Cybertronic squads were small; Chasseurs were 4-6 including the sergeant).

I could see a slight re-design on the Machinators, myself. Turning them in to slightly heavier autonomous troops. I mean between things like Mirrormen and Reavers did Cybertronic need more CC specialists? :P

Yes, there seems to be an interesting shift from cheap shock troops to big expensive robots. I like the change, they look like Terminators now and that is never a bad thing! Hope we see some renders soon.
I mainly hope Prodos will never go back to 2nd edition when concerning Machinators. That was a terrible choice by Target Games...

While added some balance, our group considered the 2nd Edition a big mistake regarding background, especially Cybertronic.

Don`t have much against the larger, more autonomous combat droids either - would pass well with the original background, but the Cuirassiers could have been used as well with CC weaponry. Might have been a waste of CPU time of an AI.. :D

We definitely need Mirrormen - closer to the original pose and style. I actually like the current ones but the poses and swords are not the luckiest ones, and a bit chunky by today standards.
