I do like the idea of Ronins and Bushido though...

Different tactics for example. Ronin could use ones that bushido would consider as dishonorable. Ronin would be treated as cannon fodder by Daimyo etc. It all could mean that in game terms they have different skills, special rules, deployment etc.

I agree with you Shadowwalker I'd prefer both have side arms (or even assault rifles), but hey I understand I cant get everything and there are other issues I feel are more important to me.

well traditionally a Ronin was just a Samurai that didn't have a lord.

originally a Samurai becoming a Ronin was most common because their lord died of natural causes and had no heirs or died dishonorably (run down fleeing from battle) and the samurai were therefore not required to commit seppuku, but there would be others that were "released" from their lords service for dishonorable actions (drunken brawling, retreating from battle) or political reasons (used as a scapegoat for a lost battle, lord was commanded by the emperor to reduce retinue) or did not commit seppuku upon the death of their lord for other reasons, but most Ronin would still abide by the code of Bushido and still refuse to use dishonorable tactics such as attacking at night and supprise attacks.

This is the shizzle! I feel that this concept art is getting very close to my own mental image of mishima samurais.

the ronin in the center is not using his sword properly :( he is winding up his swing and his hands are too close together, the left hand should be almost at the bottom of the tsuka. im going to attribute it to him having anger management issues though which is probably the reason hes ronin in the first place :P

I find that the Meka blends quite well with the rest of the force :)
