Hello all

I have been painting for over a decade and would consider myself an ok painter able to paint malifaux minis to a good standard. Now I was trying to paint warzone minis and I cant seem to paint them at all!!

They seem really tiny, so question is are there any painting tutorials out there or can someone give some advice on painting these minis!

Thanks

Sunny

All I know is that a black wash and some dry brushing is your friend :)

I too am finding these a little bit tricky, because of their dimensions and am finding using smaller sized brushes helping a bit. I'm also looking to try using Army Painter quick shade to see how that will help make it pop.

Army Painter has a fairly nice guide on the basics that's free to download from their site.

Provided you cleaned any fatty and oily layers before applying a basic
foundation layer preferably in the desired highlights tone you can directly
afterwards make the first wetbrushing with a large stiff and wet brush
trying to scrub if the colour resists. Then simply overpaint the concerning
places before retrying and finally apply thinned colours and shades
before again performing the technique. This way your figures offer
way more touch resistance but you must try if you like the appearance.

What brand of paints, glue, and brushes are people using?

@strigoi

Did you already try to paint one of your warzone miniatures? What did it look like?
If you show us a picture perhaps we can tell you some tricks to polish it.

First when i´m starting new series of miniatures i think about which colours will be used. Not too many different colours. That will increase your painting speed and give your army a very common bond. Starting with the deepest parts working to the outside. For myself i start a colour from very dark to the brightest highlight but perhaps you find it easyer just the other way.

I don´t know if anything of that is helpfully for you. If you like some tutorials perhaps look at the Massive Voodoo Tutorials.

@Yankee

Brushes:
DaVince Maestro series 0-2 for different things. Mostly size of 2.
Windsor Newton Series 7 size 1 (great brush..probably the best i´ve met but also the most expensive)

Paints:
Nearly everything i come across.. mostly Citadel, Vallejo (GameColor/Modelcolor/Modelair) some P3 some AK Interactive and some ArmyPainter Colours.
I can´t tell any favorite range just for colours. Gamecolor red won´t work for me, but their green tones are ok...and so on.

Glue:
Just superglue for 99ct. you can get in any store and some wood glue for the bases.

Concerning the finishing of paints - im using thinned black
wash for dirty/evil factions but not for clean/good ones!
These at best get some finalizing drybrushing for the
highlights best with thin white plus a few drawed
extreme shadows in black and or darker tones.
