I picked up a Cybertronic starter and in attempt to actually finish painting it up I thought I'd post some progress pics! See how it goes ... :D

Vallejo Model Model Air Steel airbrushed as a base, with some pipes picked out

Slathered in Army Painter Dark Tone ink, with some white paneling in Vallejo Game Air Dead White (little bit of a blotchy finish....never mind... :) )

Light steel drybrush over the top, including the white panels for a worn-away paint weathered kinda look
Image

Attempted some glow with Vallejo Game Air Light Livery Green airbrushed...need to practise this a bit!

Lots of contrast, very subtil changes between the differents metalic parts that gives him both coherency, volume and realism.

I love it.

he reminds me somebody by the way :

"Status?"
"Bodyguard."
"Commander?"
"Whitus"
"Mission?"
"We're going to war."
"Warrr... "

So I have been persevering with my Cybertronic starter, with (unfortunately) mixed success......but more on that later!

First I wanted to post a diorama model (kindly donated by Rhinoviru3!) I have been working on that also acted as a bit of a test for my Chasseurs.

Base colours, airbrushed. Tried to get a purple hands/feet effect blending in to the more red body but I think it came out a bit too subtle, certainly after washes...

Magic wash!

Highlighted, layering and some drybrushing

Bit more focus on the Chasseur next. Ended up going for a darker metallic combined with an albino skin. Trying to keep a bit of scheme going with my Exterminateur (I like to think he has asked for white "body" paint to match his squishy, fleshy Chasseur comrades :) )

I have since tried this out on my Chasseurs....but it all went horribly wrong.......to be continued! :)

Amazing work.

What happened to your chasseurs exactly ?

Well!
The plan was to replicate the test Chasseur on my starter set...so I assembled the first squad of 5. Primed them, and got the base coat of metallic down on the legs.

But...not sure what it was...but after applying the Dark Tone wash they just came out really dark, really blotchy, and really ugly. This doesn't really show the full horror:

So......off they went in to a pot of Vallejo Air Brush Cleaner to strip and start again. So far so good:

BUT! I obviously left them in the pot too long...D'oh. Here is what's happened to their arms:

Bendy... :(

Also lost some of the fine detail of the miniatures which is a realy dhame...but may be salvageable
