A dark grey would work nicely with the the yellow armor.
The quick and easy way would be doing it with Vallejo black grey combined with a heavy black wash then if you want, highlight it back up with a watered down black grey and use a light wash in the recesses of the cloth. If you think the highlight turned up to bright you can always glaze it back down with the wash.
And you can use the same wash on the pouches while you do the pants.

Very dark purple grey. Almost black, would offset the yellow very well.

Even a dark blue.

Check out your colour wheel. :)

Curious: I have always painted my miniatures exactly the other way round. Bottom things first, then upper layers of cloth / armor. It really helps because you dont accidentally paint over your armor when painting the face. Also, I find the face of the miniature the one thing that gives it it´s character and often helps me to make colour choices.

@Dunnagh. I really hate painting skin. So it will be done last :D
