My suggestion would be to give the Aliens a special extended action that combines the "run" action with a single attack in HTH (regardless of the number of attacks on their weapon's profile).
That way they can move two tiles and still engage but it wouldn't be too powerful. Especially with the bigger critters.

Definitely agree on both points. Acid blood should happen on a 1-10 and Aliens should be immune to other Aliens' blood.

I like the idea of giving the aliens an attack after running. I have not played with any but the base set though.
