Hi there!

It appears as though the sergeant will carry a shotgun (see the thread entitled "Shotguns").

However, I hope that he also carries a sidearm so that we receive rules for pistols!

I would rather every marine was assumed to be carrying a pistol, and models of pistols both in use and in holsters, was released at some point later.

+1 for pistols. Every marine should be equipped with a sidearm as a default component of their stat line.

all marines come with pistols as connon so should be no brainer on that 1!

Absolutely!

A set or two of pistol arms in the 5 marine box (with the H&K VP70) and one in the weapon pack (with a S&W M39) would be nifty!

I was thinking a £5ish pack (at some point) with an officer's head, 5 holstered pistols & 5 sets of arms with pistols.
That way you could convert a marine into an officer (if a full model isnt coming), add some more customisation to your regular marines, and have enough arms to convert a squad for use in the old leading edge board game/ an atmosphere processor scenario.

I think that mix would make it appealing enough for most marine collecters to want, without the price being so high to put them off.

As an added bonus, you could even put a southpaw in an all-pistol set!

Sadly, the only pistol listing is for the Lt. Linn character. I suppose you could say each marine had one, but with the pulse rifle as the standard issue weapon... why would you use a lesser powered weapon?

Well, armor piercing rounds may not be the best idea in ship interiors...hull breaches suck.

If you need a little more than harsh language, it's best to use your sidearm.

Other than that it would largely be special circumstances (like when you're facing limited ammo supplies, or find yourself under a cooling tower).

And, yes, I "need" them to recreate the Leading Edge board game.
