I am also still waiting for my copy here in Germany. I know that Peer (from the blog
http://www.erklaerpeer.de/) has received his three copies of AVP already and has released photos of its unboxing. But not one other backer I know in Hamburg.
And I even haven't received any email which announces the shipping has started for my copy. Sure, he blogs about games and translates for publishers so it's no coincidence that he got his copies already. I am not angry about the fact that there are people who get their stuff early than the average Joe. This is marketing and I don't blame anybody. But if you doesn't even got an email yet in which you learn when to expect your shipment then
this is all very annoying when you consider that it should just take under one week to ship something from one EU country to another EU country. The game is produced in Poland (which is the next neighboring country east of Germany). So what takes so much time?
I have the gut feeling that Prodos is waiting until October so they can just send an update and proclaim that we can pick up our copy in Essen. What about the shipping costs we had to pay? Do we get that money back or can we use it to buy some more in the pledge manager?
But we were told that we would get our game at the very latest in August. This did not happen. I've waited for this game for nearly 1,5 years as any backer. That there are retailers out there who sell it already was never that big problem for me. But now, as the fair in Essen is just around the corner, I am not that relaxed anymore. I am tired of waiting. I know that Prodos had a hard time to get this far in publishing the game but it is so embarrassing to hear from your mocking friends that you still got nothing after this long time. As soon as I have backed AVP I was excited about it and told my friends about it. Then the release got postponed again and again. And I started to repent to be so enthusiastic about it. I am still looking forward to finally get my hands on it. So Prodos please tell us something to be excited about again.
