I played my first game of Warzone, Resurrection today. Here is the short AAR of the slaughter... er game.

First off, awesome looking armies. And your board looks great as well. It sounds like you just had one of those games were your dice were flat and his was on fire. That happens to all of us sometime. But the great thug about this game is sometimes it can look like all is lost and something happens to totally turn the tide of the battle. Not always, but some times. The thing that impressed me about 1st ed WZ was that a single trooper with a rifle can kill anything with enough luck.

THX Raven.

I think for me this was dice rolling at it worst. The numbers I saw most often were "15" "17" and "18". I think sometime halfway through the game I stopped calculating my target numbers since most rolls were way above my RC or armour ratings anyway.

Awesome board and photos indeed. Seeing this, I really MUST start to paint my Necromutants so that there is less black on the table next time ;)

I really dig the Razide model in this 2nd photo. Towering above the Necromutants... nice. And the Hussars who are pressed against the walls of the ruins. This is really cinematic!

And yes, Raven, I have been on the receiving end of such games, too. One game against Bauhaus, my Alakhai was slaughteres in turn 1. AFTER summoning the darkness. But I managed to win with one lucky shot (Necrobeast Rider rolling a 1 on Max Steiner).

And Burkhard, you are setting one hell of a standard there with these awesome battle reports!

Thanks again Andreas!

I hope the next game will be more dominated by tactics instead of the dice, so I can crank up the narrative on the report a bit more. Regarding the black Necromutants... that is why I said I just play with painted minis. ;)

Well, lets hope so. The dice betrayed me so badly, that i could not really get a feel for the units from this game! :-(
