In UWZ, the "Diamond" series were recovered from multiple megacorps, not made solely from Cybertronic forces.

Does this backstory predate UWZ, or was that 4th generation fluff? I never followed a lot of the Cybertronic stuff back in the day.

After a quick cursory glance Vince Diamond is in the RPG Cybertronic book who is mentioned as Cybertronic's top chasseur, but see no immediate references to the "Diamonds".

Yeah, I kinda always thought he was a solitary individual, and don't remember anywhere reading that he had died before, so figured it was new info, but wasn't sure... it's been a *really* long time since I was up on this stuff.

I remember in the paperback novels (they came out around the time of first ed.) that the backstory for Cyril dent was that he was "salvaged" from Captiol; I don't think he was a Diamond though. I'd have to dig out my old first ed. books and supplements to check on Vince.

Jup, that was Cyril alright. But I always got the feeling he wasn't the same Cyril Dent as in Warzone. More like they recycled his name in Warzone. Coal Beach is also one of the characters from the book.

His blurb in Dawn of War gives only that "There is no known information word on his background and he himself answers very little on the subject." followed by "well let's just say that he's always been there."
So based on that anything is possible and open to speculation! ;)

Cybertronic "Diamonds" go back to 1st Edition.
I don't remember any references to Vince Diamond being a "Diamond".

I think Cyber's "Diamond" is a reference to how one joins the Megacorp,
but Diamond is just Vince's last name.

Yeah, and perhaps they just recycled the name on him. Cool? No doubt.

As far as I remember from the background Diamonds are the top of the Cybertronic Agents and Chasseurs. While most Cybertronic personnel are subject of kind of "brainwashing" and watched around the clock, they are not.

These individuals have proven their loyalty many times over and are allowed of "free thinking" and can call upon Cybertronic resources and most likely get them as well. They are the ones who can think out of the box and go against the regulations for the good of the Corps, and get away with it.

I recall it now - they were explained in "Dementia" as one of the Corps highdog (or AI) explains it to the protagonist.

Hope it helps.

And yes, some of their top agents were recruited after their death. One of the reason the Brotherhood is accusing them they are related to the Dark Legion.

Yes, the diamonds are the creme de la creme of the Cybertronic corporation. Most employees are headhunted (or brainwashed) from the other megacorps. Vince Diamond is probably a diamond, but it's not explicitly stated anywhere.
